So Long Coffee, Hello Turmeric Latte!

Home > About Us > News & Promos

Move over goji berries, turmeric lattes are the latest health craze hitting Australia.

Turmeric is part of Ayurvedic medicine – a holistic, all-natural approach to health that has been practised for centuries in India. And no doubt you’ve been eating it for years in your curries!

More and more people are switching their morning hot beverage to turmeric lattes, (also called ‘golden milk’) thanks to the almost-too-good-to-be-true benefits of this spice, with little or no side effects.

We make our lattes at our tea bar from our Red Sparrow Tea “Golden Blend Turmeric” which consists of organic turmeric, peppercorns and ginger. Add to this almond or soy milk, cinnamon and a little honey and you have yourself a drink also called “liquid gold.”

But should you really swap your morning coffee for this pretty yellow drink, or is this just another passing health food fad?

Take a look for yourself – there is an impressive list on the assorted medical problems that consuming turmeric can benefit.

The main active ingredient in turmeric is Curcumin which has anti-inflammatory properties, which means it can help to relieve joint pain and arthritis. If you missed this week’s A Current Affair Story, you can find out more about this here.

But turmeric has also been reported to help:

  • Diabetes
  • Stomach problems
  • It Fights Against Cancer
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Weight loss
  • Sleep & relaxation
  • Immunity
  • Depression
  • Liver detox and cleanser
  • Skin conditions
  • Reduce “bad” cholesterol

Drop in to our store in Coffs Central and we’d be happy to make you on of our yummy turmeric lattes. It’s hard to describe the taste, but it’s quite mild, very “warming” and I find it instantly relaxing.

We also sell packets of our Golden Turmeric Blend instore you can make yourself at home, or find it on our website here:
